1100 hours and Tony & Thomas hear the alert going off on their coms with the message to report to the offices of their fathers. Their dads had big smiles on their faces which usually meant they were up to “no good” and this time is no different.
As their fathers announced: “We have a big project we hope you will accept?” We need a total evaluation of our Israel Operations and that means how it relates to the Israeli Military Operations. I”m asking you to downplay this and make it as much personal as it is professional. We also would recommend you taking Gloria just to get her exposure to the “Worthington World”. Little did any of us know asking Gloria on this trip was the first step in forming an unbreakable bond between Israel and Worthington Industries.
Gloria was a workaholic and all during the flight she was busy doing her online homework and keeping her gpa high enough so she would meet the requirements to enter Harvard without anyone on the admission committee knowing she was a Worthington.

David, Uri, Tony and Thomas spent most of their time during the day reviewing Worthington Operations and Israeli Military operations that utilized the technology developed by the Worthington Israeli Group. Michael asked the head of his security detail to clear it with his father as Gloria wanted to see the statue dedicated to her namesake. Uri approved but doubled the normal security detail. Tony and Thomas were basket cases until they heard the detail had returned to their compound without incident.
When Tony and Thomas returned to the Leib Compound that night they found Gloria glowing with enthusiasm. “It is such a beautiful country, can I please have Michael show more of it to me?” Uri commented he would approve it with Tony and Thomas agreeing and you let the head of your security detail know where you want to go a day in advance. Their last night in Israel, Gloria and Michael sat in the family garden as the cool breeze off the ocean chilled the night air. They held hands tightly and never wanted the night to end. She was falling in love with Michael and knew what the next step would be with in this long distance relationship.
After she said her nightly prayers, she opened her laptop and dialed up Tokugawa. Thanking Tokugawa, Gloria had a restless night of sleep dreaming of Michael… her first love. Michael smiled and with all the fathers present, being a true diplomat kissed the hand of this young lady.
Returning to Washington and to the Penthouse Gloria”s personality had totally changed. She was more mature and smiling far too much. POTUS barely finished his televised address and my wrist com went off announcing POTUS was requesting us in the Oval Office immediately. Considering the lateness of the hour, this has to be of major importance.
As we entered the Oval Office POTUS handed us a double Nectar of the Gods and asked us to be comfortable. While he was addressing the nation, he had received a communication from Uri Leib advising us of a potential disaster. The Family has put contracts out on the heads of the Worthington, The Harriman Group and D&D Enterprises. To lose the continuity of one of these companies would be a disaster but to lose all three would cripple our war efforts.
I am asking you to meet with your peers, advise them of the threat and develop a plan to protect you and in a worse case scenario a written policy for Continuity if any of you should be killed.
To say sleep evaded me tonight would be an understatement. I thought of my friends and how I could help them. Finally it dawned on me… Congress can grant us an exemption and we can join as one group and still retain our individuality. Killing any of us might hinder some projects for a few days to week but they would continue. Our administrative support can absorb any increase in infrastructure, now to get everyone on board.
As POTUS was addressing Congress officially asking for a Declaration of War, my friends Dale, Dwight and the Harrimans gathered in our Executive Conference Room wondering why they had been summoned. Gloria was hesitant to make any request to her fathers or grandfathers considering the responsibilities they now faced each day since War had been declared. Finally, as her two Grandfathers sat on either side of her they asked what she needed. She just wasn”t being herself lately.
In tears she confessed Michael was graduating at the top of his class in Officer Candidate School. He graduates in two weeks and I want to attend his graduation. Michael has assured me Uri will escort me and I”ll sit next to him as the cadets are reviewed. She was in love with Michael and was sad she had to spend so much time studying to keep her GPA high enough to be accepted into Grad School.
The last weekend before Gloria had to return to Harvard to finish her senior year, Michael was in tears as he informed her he was being recalled to Israel. This is our last night together for a while. It was no surprise to her security detail when they left the Israeli Embassy at 0800 the next morning… Gloria had spent the night with Michael and gave him a present she could only give once… her virginity.

Doc pulled a few professional strings and Gloria would have the top obstetrician in Washington for her prenatal care and delivery of the child. The first ultrasound shocked everyone when it showed two boys. Thanking the Cardinal, he blessed her as he left to return to Fort Connor. When the Generals returned that evening, they started to formulate a plan to phase Gloria into the operations of the new Worthington Group and still remain active in the raising of Luke Michael and John Michael Worthington.
The FBI did an extensive search of the devastation at Camp Phoenix and determined it was a bomb planted in the Great Room and manually triggered when the adults were gathered together for the evening. It was just luck that Gloria was with the imps or all of the adult members of the three families would have been killed.

POTUS was in shock when Uri contacted him and offered any and all assistance to rid the world of The Family. POTUS had no idea of why Gloria was traveling to Israel and only now could guess the motive of her trip. Mossad played its “Trump Card” and advised its operative within The Family to procure all the information it could and then to immediately return to Israel. Mossad gleaned the information for weeks before it presented the coalition with a detailed report of high placed government officials in various nations that had pledged their support to The Family.
In a combined top secret operation of members of the coalition, the individuals named were arrested, confined, tried and in many cases executed by their native country. The Family hadn”t been destroyed but it lost sufficient resources that it would be years before it could challenge the sovereign authority of any given country.
As the Generals now fast tracked Gloria into the role of CEO and Chairwoman of the Board of the Worthington Group our Generals knew it was necessary to have a permanent COO in place to provide for continuity of the new Worthington Group.
The Generals invited their old friend who is now the Sergeant Major of the Army to join them in the Penthouse for quality time with an old friend. As they adjourned to the Great Room to enjoy the Nectar of the Gods the “Sergeant” was savvy enough to ask what this fantastic feast was costing him.
As the Generals smiled at him, they only comment it was an opportunity you simply can”t refuse. We are asking you to assume the role of Chief Operating Officer for the new combined Worthington Group. As they were refilling the glass for their old friend… Gloria returned from her evening engagement and the Generals introduced her to their old friend they were coercing to become your new Chief Operations Office for the Worthington Group.
Gloria congratulated the Sergeant Major and only commented the recommendation of the Generals is sufficient to have my approval of your hire. Advised his 30 years was up in 90 days and he had enough accrued leave time he was certain POTUS and SecDef would authorize his immediately stepping down from his post at the Pentagon.
Contracts were reviewed the next morning and the unbelievable perks and benefits astonished the former Sergeant Major. Gloria immediately contacted POTUS and ask that the individual be separated from the Army with his full 30 years benefit package. SecDef had it processed by the end of the business day.
Advised by the Generals they had more than enough room in their area of the Penthouse for a permanent guest, it is as secure a residence you”ll find in Washington other than the White House.
Our HR Dream Team scoured the military to find a female special forces soldier with medical training who could function as a guardian for the Worthington imps until they were old enough to be relocated to Fort Connor. The Harriman imps and D&D”s imp were immediately relocated to Fort Connor and the Chaplain was instrumental in helping them to accept the deaths of their fathers.
Gloria shocked our Alpha Zulu Commanding Generals when she video conferenced with them and advised them she would be arriving in the morning. I don”t expect the men to do anything special because I”m on base. If they feel it is necessary to cover themselves at the pool, FINE… but don”t mandate it because I”m a woman. I want to see Fort Connor as it is run every day not what is done because I”m on base. DISCONNECT!
As Gloria arrived at Fort Conner and processed by Security, the Generals escorted her to Medical for her “check in”. This assured her of her sex not being an issue with the function of Alpha Zulu and Fort Connor.

Asking our former Sergeant Manor to invite them for dinner at the Penthouse on Friday night, we”ll make certain Gloria is available to join our group. After a wonderful Prime Rib dinner, we all settled into the great room as Luke and John proceeded to crawl all over our guests and hug and kiss them in wild abandonment. Our blushing guest were “eating it up”.
Our guests only commented it was time to pay the price for this fantastic feast. What is this costing us? Our 4 star HR Dream Team is well past retirement and we are asking you two to assume their role. Our former Sergeant Major claims you are the two best men in the military to replace them and with the benefits and perks we are offering I doubt if you will say no. In addition. POTUS will sign an executive order promoting you both to the rank of a “Bird Colonel”. Show us the truth in what our new COO claims of the ability you possess, and you”ll have “Stars” in your future, guaranteed.
Expect some major ass chewing from your bosses at the Pentagon but just remind them we all work for POTUS. Also, it is time for the two of you to make each other partners for life and not hide the feelings you have for each other. This isn”t a requirement for the positions, but we want you to know we”ll only support your decision if this is the feeling and desires in your hearts, minds and souls.
Asking for a refill of their Scotch, they looked at each other and knew the answer immediately. YES! POTUS would issue the Executive Order on Monday so the Generals knew they would need to meet with the current HR Dream Team first thing on Monday morning so they didn”t learn of their retirement from either the imp mafia or the Alpha Zulu grapevine.
We advised our current HR Dream Team they were expected at Fort Connor on Saturday for their retirement party. They offered to stay on to help their replacements get up to speed and we graciously accepted their offer. These two men who we considered our close friends deserved a retirement for all the years of dedicated work they have given to Alpha Zulu. Nearly every soldier and officer at Fort Connor was either directly or indirectly recruited by these two humble HR servants.
We Generals, Gloria and our new COO joined the men of Alpha Zulu in the Saturday celebration. Our new HR team had big shoes to fill and our COO assured us they had the big feet to do the job. We trusted this man for years when he was our Command Master Sergeant and had no reason to doubt him now. We had a good feeling about this transition and time would prove we had selected the right men for the job.
Before our new HR Team left Fort Connor, they made arrangements with our Cardinal Chaplain for their premarital counseling and they would shortly be joined as partners for eternity among their friends of Alpha Zulu at Fort Connor.
POTUS was all smiles when we Generals had our regularly scheduled meeting with him. He poured us our sinful addiction as he commented we had really pissed off the HR Department at the Pentagon. (We”ll just add them to the long and growing list of pissed off members of the military.) Our consciouses are clear, and we are doing what is best for Alpha Zulu and our Country. If at any time you (POTUS) feel we haven”t acted in the best interest of our country you can always place us on inactive status.
POTUS started sputtering and advised us we weren”t getting off that easy. You can”t leave office until I do and considering who will be running to replace me I doubt if you need to make any retirement plans. (Now he had our interest peaked!)
It was a surprise to everyone in the military, congress and Alpha Zulu when the Democratic convention nominated Six Star General of the Armies Xavier Sanchez as their candidate for President and Six Star General of the Armies Alexander Bradley as his running mate for Vice President. The convention erupted in praise and a unanimous vote of approval as all opponents withdrew from the competition.
Our new HR Team best have a fast learning curve as they will now be looking for the replacements for the two highest ranking officers in the United States Military.
Within a week our new HR Team gave us the information on twelve individuals who they felt could fulfill the duties as the Commanding Generals of Alpha Zulu. We two Generals, Gloria and our new COO pondered over the information for days and then decided to select the two candidates we felt were the best fit for Alpha Zulu. Any one that all of us selected was immediately in the group to be interviewed. The balance of candidates we discussed and cut the list down to five individuals to interview.
Having our HR Team issue immediate transportation orders for the individuals to report to Worthington Industries… housed at the Marriott they all wondered why they were here and what they were getting into?
As they were transported one by one to the Worthington Executive Offices, they faced the interview of their lives and considering the lives of 400+ of our friends depended upon our selection we took it most seriously.
After interviewing the five individuals we again asked for our top selection. It was no surprise that all of us agreed on one Captain with an outstanding record in both the Drug Wars and his three tours in the middle east. His men all but nominated him for God in their performance reviews. He would definitely be our first choice for the administrative head of Alpha Zulu.
Prior to the determination of our choice for the tactical head of Alpha Zulu we four engaged in much discussion. But, in the end we all agreed upon a Command Master Sergeant that had faced some difficult battles resulting in deaths of his men but also in saving the lives of the majority of soldiers in his patrols. This man could make the tough decision if and when necessary.
That evening we asked the two candidates we selected to join us in the Penthouse for our evening meal, dress code is civilian casual. As we finished a delicious Marriott Feast and adjourned to the Great Room to enjoy the Nectar of the Gods… Luke and John were all over our guests showing their tactile selves to these two men who we would learn to love and enjoy over the years.
Now the moment of truth had arrived. Gloria rose and announced you two men had been selected from over the one million men in uniform for us to recommend to POTUS to succeed to head the Alpha Zulu Program as Six Star Generals of the Armies of the United States.
As our candidates gulped their Scotch (a true sin) they asked for a refill. Gloria continued stating the obvious this must be a shock to both of you, but we need an indication of your interest before we approach POTUS and ask for his blessing. They both had made a commitment to the Army years before and if this is what God had ordained for them, there was no way they could refuse.
Expect a command performance before POTUS in the next few days so make certain your dress uniforms are immaculate and your shoes have a spit polish shine. As the sun streamed through their bedroom window the next morning the pounding in their head was only exceeded by the pounding on their room door.
Opening the door, they found a three star aide to POTUS advising the men they were expected at the White house 1300 hours sharp. Transportation would be provided. The two men finally realized last night wasn”t a dream and that they now faced the biggest challenge in their lives.
POTUS and SecDef tag teamed the two of them for the majority of the afternoon. Advising the two candidates to return to their billet at the Marriott and to report to the office of SecDef at the Pentagon 0800 hours sharp the next day for their determination.
POTUS and SecDef video conference with us two Generals, Gloria and our new COO asking our rationale as to our final selections. As we assured both men from our experiences these two candidates were eminently qualified to lead Alpha Zulu and unless either of you have a better candidate get with the program and nominate these two men to the Senate.
SecDef was all smiles when our two terrified candidates reported to his office the next morning. Advised if they thought the interview process was traumatic they now had to face their worse nightmare… our friendly tailor. And, if you survive that experience you then face the White House “SHARKS”. DISMISSED!
